Things I've Been Doing...

erratic_prophet | 15 March, 2006 12:01

I know, I know.. You're all clamoring excitedly because? Yet another bullet list. I'm so good to you, aren't I? To get on with it, here is a list of things I've been doing lately...

  • Not posting on my blog.
  • Willing UPS to ship faster.
  • Waiting impatiently for my Lush order to arrive.
  • Returning sexy silver shoes and buying sexy, strappy silver shoes.
  • Waiting for sexy, strappy silver shoes.

Random Randomness

erratic_prophet | 03 March, 2006 23:27

It's bullet list time...

  • Between the migraines-- hello, Imitrex!-- and the weird side effects from the Yasmin-- hi there, bloat!-- I'm done. But then some lovely people donated a cold. Luckily, I got over that quickly. A lot more quickly than they did. Wish I could say the same for the migraines and bloat..
  • Got a handy dandy tip from my herbal remedy friend for the migraines. Will test it out and post results.

New Thanksgiving

erratic_prophet | 26 January, 2006 13:23

It's weird, but since mid-month I've been having the most awesome luck. Watch me jinx it all to hell now. Things have been going pretty well for me and I'm finally feeling like all of my hard work is starting to pay off. Normally, all of this feeling good crap would make me very paranoid. I'd constantly watch the skies, waiting for the anvil to drop. But I've decided to just enjoy it and not wait for the bad to start. That's so 2005, you know.

I've decided to, instead, celebrate this good feeling by listing all of the things that make me happy... (More)

Boring? Bliss!

erratic_prophet | 21 January, 2006 09:22

I haven't written much lately because there really hasn't been much to write about. Things have been quiet. That's a good thing. I like quiet. I like boredom. I want to be so bored that my eyes continually roll back into my head. Ok, maybe not that bored..

Not that there haven't been any problems. There've been a few fights and snits and all, but everything else has been pretty darn good that it outweighs the bad. Sounds like it's....list time!

Best Of

erratic_prophet | 13 January, 2006 00:28

And finally, after many days of deliberation and date checking, here it is..

My Top Five-ish of '05 (So it's not 5! Sue me!)

Albums:

  1. M.I.A.- Arular: There's a reason it's on everyone's lists, it's that good.
  2. Eels- Blinking Lights and Other Revelations: I love my man E. He never disappoints. Heart breaking at times and always rocking.
  3. Louis XIV- The Best Little Secrets Are Kept: Raunchy, ribald glam rock at its best.
  4. Beck- Guero: His best album to date.
  5. Gorillaz- Demon Days: Even my kids-- yes, both of them!-- love this album and requested it many times.
  6. Sigur Ros- Takk...: The only word I can think of to describe this album is ethereal.
  7. Queens of the Stone Age- Lullabies to Paralyze: Just so you know, Josh Homme is my future ex-husband..
  8. 50 Foot Wave- Golden Ocean: Kristen Hersh can do no wrong.
  9. ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead- Worlds Apart: It's still as fresh as the day I first listened to it.
  10. Metric- Live It Out: Everyone needs a little Canadian Techno Pop in their lives.

Resolutions Revisited

erratic_prophet | 10 January, 2006 11:38

This is the time of year when we all take stock of our lives and what we have and haven't accomplished. Curse those blasted New Year's Resolutions! Especially those you post online. Here's mine from last year (with my notes from this year):

  • Don't attract anymore psychos. (Except for Snippy-- the ex-boss-- I think I did that well enough.)
  • Really. It's enough already. Stop it with the psychos. (I'm trying! Sheesh..)
  • Take State Board exam. (Done!)
  • Pass (hopefully) State Board exam. (And done!)
  • Maybe you should just avoid people in general. One of them might be a psycho. (Tried that, too. But avoiding doesn't work for those who like to chase. Maybe I should start wearing underwear outside my clothes and try growling and drooling occasionally.)

What I've Been Doing

erratic_prophet | 06 January, 2006 12:48

Because it's been so long since I've last posted, I thought it only fair if I tell you what I've been doing-- so busy!-- this past week or so that's kept me away from all of this posting. I'm sure that that sentence made more sense in my head... Anyway, onto the list! (More)

Bullet Update

erratic_prophet | 09 November, 2005 15:22

Another list? Hell, yeah. Why? Because I can barely form coherent sentences. Yay, exhaustion!

  • Got the salon job. Working part-time. It's only a few days a week, but the money's good and my friend is there.
  • That makes two part-time jobs that I'm working now. Luckily, since my other job had to give me a dollar extra per hour, they cut down my hours, so this two job thing won't deplete all of my energy.

Slacker

erratic_prophet | 31 October, 2005 19:33

That'd be me. I've been a total slacker with this blog lately. I haven't had much to write about. Not a whole post's worth, anyway. More randomness...

  • I still don't know who won the pumpkin contest. I'm a wee bit annoyed by this. The higher-ups at work are bigger slackers than I.
  • I'm determined to get a hair cut this week. I haven't had one since the beginning of the year, I believe, and I'm way overdue. I will hurt anyone trying to get in my way.

Random Bullets

erratic_prophet | 19 October, 2005 10:42

  • I'm still sick. I know, it's been going on forever. I finally broke down and made a Dr.'s appointment. It's stupid work's stupid fault. Everyone's passing around this damn cold.
  • I'm feeling horribly guilty about missing the dinner party thrown together by my cousin's new bride. It wasn't even my fault that I missed it, but my mom made a comment about how she must think we're horrible snobs and then I felt bad. Because, although I am a horrible snob, I didn't mean to be one with her. That can wait a few years. So I'm making a horribly, sinfully rich cake to suck up and bringing it to...
  • My uncle's dinner party this weekend. I'm working the whole weekend, so the planner's jam-packed with people and events. For some odd reason, we're also bringing a turkey to this dinner party. I'm working all day and then heading on over there because: they actually gave me more than a few hours notice on it and it's in being done in honor of my cousin's new bride.

Good and Bad

erratic_prophet | 14 October, 2005 21:45

The Good:

  • The chocolate cake my mommy made me for my birthday.
  • I think I'm almost completely over my head cold now.
  • Apparently, a really cute guy was totally flirting with me at work tonight.
  • Caffeine. Caffeine good.
  • I don't have to work for the next 4 days.
  • That means: I'm so sleeping in this weekend.
  • I think I've lost more weight because..
  • I fit into my really, super skinny pants that I couldn't even fit into back when I bought them.

Mother of All Musical Memes

Stolen from Mary via Michelle..

Directions: Go find your year of high school graduation (scroll all the way down the page), click it and copy/paste the list of songs to your blog.
Bold the songs you loved, italicize the ones you hated, underline the ones you don't remember, and leave the rest alone.

Simple, right?

I said it would be done. I'm going to list my current firefox theme and extensions and my current Konfabulator widgets. Aren't you excited? At least pretend to be.

My current firefox theme is: Noia 2.0 (eXtreme)- I like this because it's colorful without being overdone. It's nice and simple and cute.

If you know anything about me, you'll know it's c.

Totally Lacking Inspiration

erratic_prophet | 14 August, 2005 21:54

As you can tell from the title, I've been totally lacking in inspiration lately. I don't know what caused it, but it's something I've been thinking long and hard about. I've compiled a list of what I think might be the culprits.

Random

erratic_prophet | 02 August, 2005 22:00

A few random things:

  • I found out that my cat weighs more than 18 lbs. when I went to the vet today. Also found out that my cat's a psycho drama kitty. There was much howling and hissing done at the vet's office today.

Drugs

erratic_prophet | 25 July, 2005 15:31

The pain in my throat was unbearable yesterday. I knew I was going to the doctor the next day (today) but I didn't know what to do in the meantime. Nothing OTC was working. I turned to the hard stuff.

I only took half a percocet because I had to go out and do some food shopping. No, I didn't drive. I'm not that stupid. Mom drove because I was all "Wheeeeeeeeee! Look at the pretty colors!" The Girl even asked "What's with mom? She's all weird." to which I replied "Kids. This is your mom on drugs. See? Drugs are bad! Ooooh, kitty toys.."

Rush

erratic_prophet | 17 July, 2005 21:45

Oh. My. God.

This week/weekend has been a blur. I'm not even sure when it started. I was just racing along, then I was coasting along, now I'm on the side of the road with steam pouring out from under my hood.

I can't even string together enough words to form proper sentences, never mind paragraphs. That means: List Time!

Total Music Geek Out

erratic_prophet | 30 June, 2005 12:05

I decided to steal Edana's variation on a popular meme ciruclating the blogosphere. Kill me now, I just said "blogosphere".

You're supposed to only name six of your favorite songs at the moment, but I can't ever name just six. No, no.. It's not possible. I must list until I can list no more. This list might rival a Stephen King novel and not just for being weird and scary...

Rant List

erratic_prophet | 22 June, 2005 13:10

This should be-- if it hasn't already become-- a weekly thing. It's like my Good vs. Bad or Good, Bad, and Ugly lists. It really needs its own category. I'll get to work on that...

Without much ado, let's get onto what's gotten my panties in a bunch lately..

Pros and Cons

erratic_prophet | 10 June, 2005 22:52

Oh. My. God.

I just got home from a thoroughly exhausting day at work. Massive sale this week. My poor little-- or not so little, if I'm completely honest-- feet are killing me. During my mind-numbing work, I came up with a list of pros and cons of said work tonight.

Weighing In

erratic_prophet | 07 June, 2005 17:16

So much has been going on lately. I've been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride emotionally. Physically, too. I'd say that it's time for a good vs. bad list, don't you?

Arch Nemesis

erratic_prophet | 01 June, 2005 22:41

Ok, not really an arch nemesis..

But I don't like her. I tried to! I really did! But...I don't. I've noticed that every time we work together, that she works really hard to look like she's doing something when she's totally not doing anything. It's irksome. And that's not the only thing. I compiled a list of sorts on my way home..

Or or Wednesday, Bloody Wednesday.

Yet Another Meme

erratic_prophet | 12 May, 2005 16:35

Stole this meme from Ms.Q.

1) My uncle once: taught me how to swim in a baptism gone wrong. Ok, not really. He threw me into the pool and was shocked that my skinny little body went through the hole in the inner tube. But I did learn to swim that day.

2) Never in my life: have I ever liked bananas.

Odd Things I've Said

erratic_prophet | 12 May, 2005 14:49

Usually to my kids. I'm quite sure the neighbors think we're all quite insane and I'm not too sure that they're wrong. I've found myself shouting odd things to my kids. But then, my kids do very odd and/or stupid things. Actually kids, in general, do very stupid things. It's amazing that any of us survive childhood. Student of the Week!

erratic_prophet | 12 May, 2005 13:55

I'm going to take a page from my daughter and do a little about me thing. The girl brought home this paper. On it was written Student of the Week! and it tells about how the child has to put a little presentation of sorts together for the class to see. It's put up on a bulletin board the whole week. She was given various questions to answer about herself, I figured I'd do the same. So here goes: (More)
